My desire for a personal project, a need for some daily mindfulness, the freedom of a career change, and the new-found boredom of the pandemic all combined to seed GROVE in my mind. As a series of 100 social media posts, I wrote and created a small piece of stylized art to share each day that encouraged followers to reflect on themselves and the world and lots of silly things.
The project gave me the space to try some out new techniques, confront a lot of my own anxieties, push myself to stick to a committed posting schedule, and stay in touch with a lot of friends through tough times.
It’s on indefinite hiatus, but I do hope to pick it up again. Maybe if I read some more Alan Watts…
